In a concerning development, a threat actor has purportedly announced the sale of unauthorized access to a prominent South Korean cable & satellite and telecommunications company. The actor, operating within underground forums, claims to offer potential buyers entry into various critical systems and platforms within the targeted organization.

The alleged access includes entry to Jenkins, OwnCloud, Bitbucket, AWS, Jira, and domain-level access, which encompasses SSL access. Additionally, the threat actor suggests that further access privileges will be granted as the buyer delves deeper into the company’s data infrastructure, potentially providing access to database configurations.

This South Korean telecommunications entity, with a substantial annual revenue of $13.4 billion, remains unnamed in the actor’s announcement. However, the potential ramifications of unauthorized access to such a significant player in the telecommunications sector raise serious concerns regarding data security and privacy breaches. The threat actor has set a price tag of $10,000 for this illicit access, highlighting the lucrative nature of cybercriminal activities targeting high-value organizations.
