In a recent cyber incident, the Handala Group has allegedly claimed responsibility for a targeted phishing campaign against numerous Israeli organizations. While the authenticity and full extent of the attack are yet to be verified, the group’s declaration has raised concerns within the cybersecurity community.

Yesterday, the Handala Group allegedly launched a significant phishing campaign against thousands of Israeli organizations. The group claimed that the attack used a dedicated wiper and FUD tactics to compromise data integrity. They stated that dozens of targeted organizations have already lost several terabytes of data.

The message referenced a recent issue at CrowdStrike and suggested that the attack was strategically timed to exploit vulnerabilities. The Handala Group criticized the Israeli National Cyber Directorate (INCD), stating that the agency remains largely unaware of the attack’s true scale. They warned that if INCD fails to disclose the affected organizations, they will publish the list themselves.

So far, INCD and the affected organizations have not confirmed the extent of the data breaches. It remains to be seen how the situation will unfold and whether Handala’s claims will be substantiated.
