CyberVolk, a threat actor group, has allegedly breached the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), claiming to have leaked 5% of its database. The group states that the remaining 95% of the database is available for purchase unless NOAA meets their ransom demand of $5,000,000 in Bitcoin within 48 hours. CyberVolk has warned that failure to comply will result in the full sale of the data. The group’s message underscores their motto: “In Shadows We Trust, In Silence We Strike.”

CyberVolk’s announcement includes a stark warning to NOAA, positioning this as part of a broader operation they are calling #OpUSA. The group claims the leaked data is only a small fraction of the total, describing the database as “colossal.” They have provided a Bitcoin address for the ransom payment, asserting that this is the only way for NOAA to protect the remaining data from being sold publicly.

While CyberVolk’s claims remain unverified, the situation highlights ongoing threats to government data security and the broader implications for public trust and operational integrity.
