A threat actor claims to have breached the database of SchenkYou, a German company known for its innovative solutions in relationship-building and personalized gifts like friendship and partner jewelry. The breach, allegedly occurring in September 2024, allegedly compromised the entire customer database, containing 237,370 unique email addresses and a total of 6 million records.

The hacker claims the leaked data includes sensitive information such as email addresses, full names, dates of birth, and password hashes. The database is being offered for $1,500 in Bitcoin or Monero, with a middleman involved in transactions. Additionally, the hacker has issued a direct offer to SchenkYou to purchase their own database back for a fee of $50,000, warning the company to act quickly.

The alleged breach highlights the increasing threats faced by companies handling personal data and the need for robust cybersecurity measures to protect against such incidents.
