A threat actor has alleged the breach of the Tamil Nadu Labour Department’s database and is selling the allegedly stolen information on a dark web forum. The threat actor is demanding $5,000 for access to the sensitive government data, which reportedly includes details of both applicants and migrant workers registered within the state.

The post claims that two key databases from the Tamil Nadu Labour Department have been compromised:

  • Labourportaldb – Applicants: Containing 102,926 rows of personal information, including applicants’ names, Aadhaar numbers, PAN numbers, and other identity information. The dataset also includes contact details like phone numbers and email addresses, alongside geographical information such as district, taluk, and street names.
  • Migrant Workers: Two separate datasets within this category were reportedly breached, with one having over 713,000 rows and another exceeding 1.2 million rows. These records allegedly contain information on migrant workers, such as names, mobile numbers, bank account details, and employer contacts. Additionally, the data points include workers’ current and native addresses, educational backgrounds, and family member details.
