Two cybercriminal groups, NoName057(16) and the Cyber Army of Russia, have allegedly launched a series of Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks on several prominent Slovak websites, causing significant disruptions.
The group NoName057(16) is reported to have targeted:
VÚB banka: The second largest bank in Slovakia, offering a comprehensive range of banking services to both individuals and legal entities.
National Council of Slovakia: The country’s legislative body, which plays a crucial role in the governance and legal framework.
In addition, the Cyber Army of Russia is alleged to have attacked the:
Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic: This ministry is responsible for Slovakia’s foreign policy and international relations, making it a critical target for cyber disruptions.
These coordinated attacks have highlighted the vulnerability of critical national infrastructure to cyber threats and underscore the need for robust cybersecurity measures to protect against such intrusions.
