Anonymous Arabia, a hacking collective, has purportedly launched a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack on Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), the primary air gateway to Jordan.

About Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA):
QAIA serves as Jordan’s main airport and is the headquarters and hub of Royal Jordanian Airlines. With a vast land area of approximately 22 million square meters, QAIA accommodates over 44 airlines, 11 air cargo companies, and 3 private airlines, handling both domestic and international flights. The airport’s passenger terminal spans about 100,000 square meters and caters to around 9 million passengers annually.

Details of the Attack:
According to Anonymous Arabia, the attack was executed using the Bossbonet DDoS infrastructure, resulting in disruptions to the airport’s online services.

Motivation Behind the Attack:
The hacking group cited Jordan’s perceived support for Israel against Gaza as the primary motive for the cyber assault.

This incident highlights the growing use of cyberattacks as a means of political and ideological expression, significantly impacting vital international transportation hubs and their operations.
