A recent claim has emerged involving a significant data leak from Fortinet, a prominent cybersecurity firm. The alleged breach reportedly includes 440 GB of data from Fortinet’s Azure SharePoint, made available on an S3 bucket by the threat actor. Fortinet, known for its recent acquisitions of Next DLP (a Data Loss Prevention company) and Lacework (a cloud security firm), is said to be at the center of this breach.
The claim includes unverified statements that Fortinet’s founder, Ken Xie, rejected ransom negotiations with an unusual remark, sparking further controversy. The threat actor also taunts Fortinet’s alleged failure to file an SEC 8-K form, a mandatory disclosure document.
These allegations are yet to be confirmed by official sources, and the authenticity and extent of the breach remain unverified.
