The National Sports Institute of Chile (IND) is reported to have experienced a significant data breach, affecting the personal information of over 1.7 million users. This government organization, which oversees the country’s national sports policy, allegedly had its database compromised by individuals linked to the Turkish Skidding & Femboying team and Datascope.io. The attackers, operating under the alias “Tailmon,” are accused of exploiting their access to extort individuals, including Alberto Abarza, a three-time bronze medalist at the 2024 Paralympics.

The breach includes sensitive data such as names, identity documents, emails, phone numbers, and more, raising serious privacy concerns. Calls have been made to Chilean and Turkish authorities to investigate the breach and hold those responsible accountable. Victims, including prominent athletes, are urged to take legal action against the alleged perpetrators, who have been criticized for their poor operational security and disregard for ethical conduct.
